During the past weeks, from April to May, most of the places in the Philippines and neighbouring countries have been dealing with dangerous heat levels. I felt it to such an extent that it disrupted my schedule, and I had to change my workflow.
I have been going to a café to work since then, so I had to change the way I record my R&D Sessions. I wasn't able to publish videos because I couldn't render the same way I did as before as I’m concerned about the extreme heat —and overheating my laptop is a risk I’m unwilling to take! Moreover, my recording sessions changed and became less since I'm at a public area where recording with commentary is not that feasible in such setting.
The positive in all this is that, the café is located conveniently near me and it's a nice cozy place with a nice setting. The price isn't that bad either. The owners are nice. They’re a couple and I see them work in the café from time to time.
One evening, after spending the afternoon there, I passed by the café and got the chance to speak with one of the owners. I was able to show her my work as I was on my way to bring my artwork to a friend who’s flying back abroad. She mentioned I could also sell artwork at the café!
So, despite the disruption this has caused because of the abnormally hot weather, I can still find joy in this situation because, as a friend puts it, I’m able to take advantage of the AC at the café, and I enjoy the pleasant atmosphere working away from home. A change in surroundings — being with other people instead of by myself working at home — is a good change from time to time. Thank G-d for that!
So, this is a developing post... Next up, I can share more details about the changes in the workflow, some ideas I had to adapt to these changes dealing with the extreme heat factor.
