This is a book I acquired many years ago, and I recently took it out to use as a reference for projects I'm currently working on.

How & When I Acquired the Book

I purchased this book many years ago from a bookstore called "Fully Booked" located in BGC, Taguig, Philippines, after seeing the book in their featured books section. The moment I saw it, I knew it would be a helpful resource. It was packed — indeed, as the title says, it's an essential reference, and I agree!

If my memory serves me right, it was around that time when I was working as a Sr. Graphic Artist for a local company, wherein I experienced working at a startup and building a brand from scratch. I was a busy designer then (and now, still) so I was their "target market".

Part 1: Intro in the Video

In this video, I talk about when and how I acquired this book and my first impressions.

Learning from Experts in the Field

I had the habit of going to the bookstore (and using it as a library 😅) since they allow people to browse and read there (and of course, buy their books if you like). It was also my coping strategy whenever I got stressed at work, or whenever I was dealing with a problem, I would go there to look up and learn more about what I could be dealing with, and learn how to deal with it, to try to solve my problems. That's how I learned about management, conflict resolution, anger management, product management, leadership, and more! I think that's one of the best ways to learn, considering the authors of these books would be the experts in the field.

Part 2: Contents of the Book

In this 2nd video, I show the contents, flipping through it, and shared quotes, how I was inspired by the book then and how it inspires me now.
